A newly published paper on BioBran, titled “Enhancement of Anti-Neoplastic Effects of MGN-3/Biobran Against Solid Ehrlich Carcinoma-Bearing Mice via Lipidic Nanoparticle Based Targeted Drug Delivery System,” by a research team led by Zeinab A. Alerksosy and collaborators, reports a study of lipid nanoparticle-encapsulated MGN-3/BioBran in a mouse model of solid Ehrlich carcinoma.
This study investigated the effects of MGN-3/BioBran encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles formulated with cinnamon and avocado oils on tumor growth and cancer cell activity. The researchers compared free (non-encapsulated) MGN-3/BioBran, plain lipid nanoparticles without MGN-3/BioBran, and nanoparticle-encapsulated MGN-3/BioBran in tumor-bearing mice. The study examined tumor volume and weight, cancer cell proliferation, cell cycle progression, apoptosis, inflammatory markers, and oxidative stress.
