Rats fed a high cholesterol diet exhibited symptoms of hypercholesterolemia and fatty livers, and deterioration in liver function. In both groups treated with 1.5 and 3.0% Rice Kefiran, transaminase (GOT, GPT) activity was significantly reduced. These results suggest that Rice Kefiran acts to improve liver function.
