Daiwa Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. Holds Bio Bran Study Conference

Daiwa Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd (Daiwa, head office in Setagaya, Tokyo; president, Mr. Y. Ninomiya) held the "Bio Bran study conference" at the Tsukuba International Congress Center, Ibaraki prefecture, on Sunday, 11 February, 2001. The conference was attended by more than 180 participants, including doctors, pharmacists, acupuncturists and other observers (distributors and special sole agents).

The Bio Bran study conference consists of a number of doctors carrying out fundamental research and clinical trials on LENTIN PLUS (of which the raw material is BIO BRAN, and the main component: rice bran Arabinoxylan), which is Daiwa's leading product. The conference will be held regularly in order to report on and discuss the outcome of those investigations, and in this year, it was hold as a commemorative conference with some special lectures due to the considerable amount of data to be presented.

The participants were especially attentive to the following special lectures:

"World progress to the unified medicine the status quo and characteristics in Japan", delivered by Dr. Ryoichi Obitsu, M. D., Ph. D., Director of The Japan Holistic Medical Society and Director of Obitsu Sankei Hospital.

"Autonomic nervous system innervation of white blood cells Immunology that cures diseases", by Dr. Toru Abo, M. D., Professor in the Department of Medicine, Niigata University.

"Intestinal flora and disease", by Dr. Tomotari Mitsuoka, Ph. D., Emeritus Professor at Tokyo University.

In addition, there were three presentations on fundamental research and four clinical reports, each being followed by active questions and discussion. In the comprehensive discussion, in which scores of doctors participated, mature opinions were exchanged that extended beyond the area of health food, and not only were some of the problems solved, but many constructive suggestions were also made.

Daiwa intends to develop this "Bio Bran study conference" as a company mission from here onward.
