“Health Ingredients Japan 2005” (sponsored by CMP Co., Ltd., Japan) was held at Tokyo Big Sight (Tokyo, Japan), from October 5^th to 7^th.

Daiwa Pharmaceutical (Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, Japan - President: Yasuo Ninomiya) exhibited their major product “BIOBRAN”, “NKCP”, and Daiwa's new leading product, “Rice Kefiran”.

This exhibition was targeted towards specialists who research quality, safety and function of food and known to be as the largest event in all Asia. Approximately 45,000 people both domestic and other Asian countries attended during the show.

The show ended with unexpected success partially because Daiwa renewed the booth this year which lead large number of eager visitors to the booth with many questions. In addition, the presentation, titled “New functional food material 'Rice Kefiran', a legendary nutrient from Lactobacillus kefiranofaciens produced in a rice culture medium” [Hisayoshi Kato, Director of R&D Department].

“Rice Kefiran”was developed through joint research with Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan, This epoch-making material made from rice drew a lot of attentions. “Rice Kefiran” will be merchandised after passing some more tests.

Also, “The 3^rd International Clinical Anti-Aging Medicine Japan 2005”, October 8^th to 10^th, was held at Kenpo Kaikan (Hotel Heart-In Nogizaka), Tokyo where Daiwa exhibited and presented on “BIOBRAN” and “NKCP”.

Daiwa will be participating in “The 27^th Japanese Society of Clinical Nutrition Meeting/ The 26^th Japanese Society of Clinical Nutrition/ The 3^rd Alliance Meeting” at Pacifico Yokohama from November 11^th to 13^th.

They will be exhibiting as well as presenting on “NKCP”, titled “Bioactive of Purified Filtrate of Bacillus subtilis natto Culture (NKCP) on blood characteristic”.
