The Japan Functional Food Research Association (JAFRA) held the 3rd International Workshop on Integrative Medicine in Germany (Berlin).

The Japan Functional Food Research Association (JAFRA, Director: Yasuo Ninomiya) held the 3rd International Workshop on Integrative Medicine (Chairman: Dr. Ryoichi Obitsu, President of the Japan Holistic Medical Society) in Berlin, Germany (Humboldt University, etc.) for 2 days from October 18 (Friday) to October 19 (Saturday). This workshop was successfully completed under the sponsorship of Daiwa Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., etc., with over 80 participants who are front-line physicians, pharmacists, acupuncturists and university professors from 13 countries of Europe/the US and Asia including 40 people from Japan.
At the first workshop held in the US, the theme was "Young and active Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM) in America is trying to open a new frontier," and the second workshop took place in the UK under the theme of "Mental Health Care in Therapy." This time, we attended lectures and visited the scenes of world-class, German medicine such as Steiner Medicine (Anthroposophic Medicine) and Kneippism.
At the workshop, Dr. Buehring at the Free University of Berlin, a pioneer in Complementary Alternative Medicine in Germany, and front-line physicians and scholars from Germany, the UK and Japan presented the latest clinical data and study results and a lively discussion also took place.

"A Holistic Approach to Cancer Treatment, mainly with diet therapy and functional food"
In addition, demonstrations of the following non-drug therapies were given:
Art Therapy (music, painting, drawing and sculpting)
Curative Eurythmy
Rhythmical Massage.
This time, "BioBran Workshop" was specially held, which provoked a greater response than expected. At this workshop, data and articles on BioBran (Trade name: "Lentin Plus 1000" = Daiwa Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.) from front-line medicine were presented, which made the meeting very active.
The Japan Functional Food Research Association (JAFRA) will continue to hold such overseas workshops in subsequent years.
