Daiwa Pharmaceutical presented its leading products at two exhibitions held in Tokyo in May 2009

From May 19 (Tue.) to 20 (Wed.), 2009, the Health Food Expo, Ingredients, and Contract Manufacture 2009 was held at the Tokyo International Forum (organized by Health Business Magazine Co., Ltd.). More than 60 material manufacturers and contract manufacturers exhibited and promoted their materials, ingredients, and technologies.

Daiwa presented three products again this fiscal year: rice bran arabinoxylan compound “BioBran”, natto protease “NKCP”, and a lactobacillus product in a rice medium “Rice Kefiran”.

At the exhibitors' presentation, Mr. Hisayoshi Kato, General Manager of the Research and Development Department of Daiwa Pharmaceutical, presented the latest research findings on immunoreactivity against tumor cells in a lecture entitled “How BioBran (rice bran arabinoxylan compound) promotes dendritic cell differentiation”.

From May 20 (Wed.) to 22 (Fri.), 2009, the 14th International Food Ingredients & Additives Exhibition and Conference (ifia Japan 2009) and the 7th Health Food Exposition and Conference (HFE JAPAN 2009) were held at the Tokyo Big Sight (organized by Food Chemicals Newspaper Inc., authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, various embassies, etc.), where Daiwa similarly showcased the three products mentioned above.

At the HFE JAPAN session corner, a world authority on intestinal bacteria, Mr. Tomotari Mitsuoka (Professor Emeritus of the University of Tokyo), delivered a lecture entitled “The utility of Rice Kefiran and intestinal flora”, in which he talked about the material developed and produced by Daiwa and described its benefits.

Nowadays, health foods require ever higher levels of safety. Daiwa's products, all made under strict quality control from raw materials related to the historical dietary habits of the Japanese such as rice and natto, drew more attention than ever before at both exhibitions.
