Daiwa exhibits at Ifia JAPAN 2008 and HFE JAPAN 2008

Daiwa Pharmaceutical exhibited its major products at the Ifia JAPAN 2008 and HFE JAPAN 2008 both held at Tokyo Big Sight from May 21 to May 23 hosted by the Food Chemical News Co., Ltd. under the auspices of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

The products displayed there were: “BioBran” (rice bran arabinoxylan compound), which has, as our flagship, secured its place in the market for almost 10 years; “NKCP” (nattoprotease), the new function and utility of which are gathering attention from researchers and medical institutions; and 100% plant-based “Rice Kefiran” (phytogalactoglucan from LK-Lactobacillus culture with rice medium), which was commercialized as a result of long-term joint efforts with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. We gave two corporate presentations to show the utility of Rice Kefiran.

Dr. Tomotari Mitsuoka (Professor Emeritus of the University of Tokyo, Doctor of Agriculture), a world authority in the research of intestinal flora, delivered a lecture on the usefulness of intestinal flora and Rice Kefiran, and Hisayoshi Kato, Research and Development Department Manager of Daiwa Pharmaceutical, gave a speech about the utility of the product in fighting against metabolic syndrome. Rice Kefiran is fat free and contains no artificial colors, fragrances, preservatives, or sugar. Such healthy features attracted a lot of attention from those in attendance.

Rice Kefiran is distributed in two products: “LK500” for sales channels limited to healthcare professionals and “Kefira” for sales channels to counseling pharmacies.
