Daiwa Pharmaceutical held the 4th pharmacies/drugstores seminar for pharmacists, etc.

Renowned for the development of traditional Japanese foodstuff-derived, unique functional products, such as gLentin Plus 1000h and gNKCP,h Daiwa Pharmaceutical (Setagaya-ku, Tokyo; President: Yasuo Ninomiya) held the 4th pharmacies/drugstores seminar at the East One Tower in Shinagawa, Tokyo on April 20. Following the 3rd seminar in October last year, the 4th seminar also attracted a large audience of pharmacy and drugstore owners and pharmacists.

As with the 3rd seminar, Kazushi Komatsu, Komatsu Yakuhin (headquartered in Ibaraki Prefecture), delivered a lecture entitled gDevelopment, maturation and decline of the body-defending immune system IV.h As a review of the 3rd seminar, he briefed the audience on the changes in immune cells by age bracket and the close relationship between the intestines and brain. He then talked about renal function, in particular renal blood flow, glomerular filtration as well as the secretion and regulation of hormones. With the remark that the blood flow volume in a healthy kidney averages as much as 1200ml/min, about 25% of systemic blood flow per minute, he emphasized that an excessive intake of salt and animal fat should be avoided.

Subsequently, the Sales Department of Daiwa Pharmaceutical introduced the newly-marketed gKefira.h The speaker gave the audience an explanation of the new product as follows: Rice Kefiran, the main ingredient of Kefira, is a plant-based product manufactured through the process of cultivating, in a rice culture, lactobacillus derived from kefir, a traditional macrobiotic ingredient in the Caucasian region, and concentrating the resultant product; Kefira is fat free and the content of viscous polysaccharide, kefiran, is 250-fold compared with homemade kefir in Japan.

Daiwa Pharmaceutical intends to hold a 5th seminar, as well as future lecture meetings and workshops in order to disseminate accurate product and health-related information and enhance communication with individuals related to pharmacies/drugstores and health professionals, says President Ninomiya.
