Kefiran-rich "Kefira" and "LK500" go on the market

Daiwa Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (President: Yasuo Ninomiya; Head office address: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo) launches “Kefira” and “LK500” on April 21, which are granular dietary supplements containing a new ingredient, Rice Kefiran, which is obtained from the process of cultivating kefir-derived lactobacillus using rice and then concentrating the resultant product.

The new products each contain 500mg of our original ingredient Rice Kefiran (please see detailed information on page 3) per stick pack. These easy-to-ingest granular products also contain Clostridium butyricum and oligosaccharide for probiotic and prebiotic effects, respectively. Kefira is distributed mainly by a counseling pharmacy channel, while the distribution route for LK500 is limited to physicians.

Kefira and LK500, the fruits of 8-year research and development of Rice Kefiran, are already receiving a number of inquiries from drug stores and clinics.
