Daiwa Pharmaceutical Presented the latest data on "NKCP" and "Rice Kefiran" at Health Ingredients Japan 2007


Health Ingredients Japan 2007 (hosted by CMP Japan) was held at Tokyo Big Sight on November 20 to 22. Daiwa Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, Japan; President, Yasuo Ninomiya) displayed the main products gBioBran,h gNKCP,h and gRice Kefiran,h a fermentation product made by a lactobacillus from Kefir with a rice medium.

This was the largest-scale exhibition of its kind in Asia, specializing in functional food ingredients and welcoming around 41,000 visitors from various regions in Japan and the rest of Asia.

Daiwa Pharmaceutical built a new-design booth and presented the latest data on the anti-arteriosclerotic effect of gRice Kefiran.h Many people from other Asian countries visited Daiwa's booth and asked many questions about gRice Kefiran,h which attracted attention for its usefulness in treating metabolic syndrome.

As for gNKCPh, a natto-derived food to improve blood flow, Daiwa pharmaceutical gave two presentations: the latest findings on its anticoagulant and fibrinolytic effects; and the determination method of its functional protein, discussing NKCP's effect of adjusting the balance between blood fibrinolysis and coagulation, and a study of the sensations of its effect after ingestion (Hisayoshi Kato, Manager of the Research and Development Department). Daiwa also introduced a pre-productive sample of a double-layer tablet, in which separate layers of gNKCPh and acidic substances that are difficult to mix with gNKCPh are processed into a tablet using new technology.

Daiwa Pharmaceutical plans to hold several seminars for gBioBranh dealers next year and intends to actively attend overseas exhibitions to develop new markets.
