|

The 5th Health Food Expo (HFE JAPAN 2007) was held at Tokyo Big Sight from May 30 to June 1, 2007, hosted by Food Chemical News and supported by Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Daiwa Pharmaceutical exhibited its main products and discussed new results for Nattoprotease (NKCP) for researchers and health professionals at its presentation.

The products presented included gBioBranh (rice bran arabinoxylan compound), gNKCPh (Nattoprotease), and vegetable functional food material made from gRice Kefiranh (phytogalactoglucan from LK-lactobacillus culture with rice medium) that has attracted much attention since being released. Many questions were raised regarding the clinical study results of gBioBranh-a popular product sold in 40 countries. gNKCPh was also the topic of many questions, suggesting a high level of interest.

This presentation was given under the title gNew findings about the anticoagulant/fibrinolytic effects of Nattoprotease (NKCP).h The presenter mainly discussed the triple functions of NKCP as being (1) an anticoagulant, (2) acting to reduce blood viscosity, and (3) its thrombolytic effect, as well as a recent publication on the quantitative determination of Nattoprotease.

Representatives from 400 Japanese companies and overseas companies from 18 countries participated in gHFE JAPAN 2007h and the joint 12th International Food Ingredients & Additives Exhibition and Conference (ifia JAPAN 2007). More than 30,000 visitors attended this three-day event.
