Research presentation on anti-inflammation function of hydrolyzed rice bran (HRB)
|

A research presentation on Daiwa Pharmaceutical's hydrolyzed rice bran (HRB) was made at The 127th Meeting of The Pharmaceutical Society of Japan (hosted by The Pharmaceutical Society of Japan) held in Toyama City from March 28 to 30, 2007.

The presentation was given by a research group led by Assistant Professor H. Furuno, Aichi Gakuin University, School of Pharmacy on the activation prevention of mastocyte through use of HRB.

As can be seen from the following results, an activation prevention (anti-inflammation function) of mastocyte through use of HRB was suggested.
- By pre-treating the mastocyte cells of mice and rats with HRB, mastocyte degranulation from antigenic stimulation and production of inflammatory cytokine (TNF-ƒ¿) were prevented in a concentration-dependent manner.
- It was suggested that by shutting down the signal-flow path of mastocyte cells HRB was able to inhibit both mastocyte degranulation from antigenic stimulation and the production of cytokine.
Daiwa will be investigating the molecular mechanism of HRB in the future.
