Daiwa Pharmaceutical's NKCP made news through a foreign guest speaker at the 5th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Travel Medicine

The 5th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Travel Medicine was held at the National Institution for Youth Education (Tokyo, Japan) on April 14th and 15th. A foreign guest speaker dealt largely with NKCP of Daiwa Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, Japan - President: Yasuo Ninomiya).

The event was held with the theme, gTravel medicine for natural disasters and accidents.h Among many presentations of theses and clinical data on travel medicine, the longest presentation of an hour made by a foreign guest speaker stimulated visitor's interests.

In the presentation titled gLong flight thrombosis,h Dr. Farrol Kahn of the Aviation Health Institute explained symptoms known as economy-class syndrome and how to deal with them. He emphasized the efficacy of NKCP being better than aspirin, which is said to decrease the risk of lung embolism by functioning in the artery.

The presentation was all the more convincing with some 20 slides accompanying the speech. Dr. Farrol, at the recommendation of the Aviation Health Institute, concluded with the preventative solution for DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis); parallel use of pressure stocking and aspirin, or a nutritional supplement, such as NKCP.

The 2nd generation nattokinase NKCP contain bacillopeptidase F, which has become a new item to take over from conventional nattokinase (subtilisin protease). It is drawing attention as a new functional food to reduce thrombosis risk.
