Proteins and starches are digested into nutrients such as amino acids and glucose in the stomach and intestines, which are then absorbed in the small intestine. Current evidence indicates that BioBran is not degraded in the digestive tract, but is primarily absorbed into the bloodstream where it activates Natural Killer (NK) cells and macrophages.
